November 14th Event

November 14, 2009

Cheatham County Muzzleloader Hunt

Cheatham County produced over 1200 deer kills during 2008 with 561 of them being bucks. You could not ask for a better buck to doe ratio. When the ratio is that close, the bucks not only get bigger, but they tend to move around more due to not having as many females around. Join us on our next adventure to Cheatham Co.

Priority Deadline: November 1st
Secondary Deadline: November 6th
Open Deadline: November 13th

About Your Trip

Outdoor Xcursions
A Tennessee Based Hunting Club

About Your Trip

Location
The county we will be holding the event at will be listed on the schedule. The exact area will not be released until 24 hours before the trip and only participants that have sign up for that event will be notified. This keeps people from scouting, putting pressure on the animals before the event and also helps keep from drawing a bigger crowd to the area than the amount of people we are taking. An event may change during a season, but for planning purposes for our members, an event will not change with in 60 days of the event. With in 24 hours of the event, you will be sent an email on exact meeting location for all members to attend. For members deciding to stay overnight, motel or camp site accommodations with be listed where available.

Once You have Arrived
You will be given a packet with information about the area we are attending. We will be broken up in groups of two or more & one hunter in each group will be given a VHF radio for communicating with staff. Radio will be off while hunting, but once hunter decides to climb out of stand or quite hunting, radio is to be turned on. This is for safety purposes.

The Land
Is to be treated like it is your own. The area will be broken off in sections. Once your group has been decided, you will then draw a number to see what section you are hunting. Theirs only two ways that you may hunt a different section other than the one you have drawn, if a hunter never arrived or if a hunter decided to not hunt the next morning. Once we have left for the woods, that is the section you must stay in for that day.

Hunting Times
Are different due to the event or daylight savingstime. All hunting trips start off as afternoon hunts. On a voluntary bases, you may stay the night and hunt the next morning. Afternoon trips are scheduled because you can not find your way through the woods in the dark if you have not ever been there.

Your Departure
Safety is always first. You may never leave for any reason with out notifying a staff member. All contact information will be supplied for you on your arrival time.

Membership vs Open Events

Outdoor Xcursions
Membership Dues vs Open Events

Membership is due June 1st of every year. This is due to the deer season dates are not usually released till around this time. At this time, we would be more accurate with scheduling our events. Their is a cost for running a site, filming hunts & planning events and a $30.00 membership is a small price to pay for what you get out of the program. We do all the leg work and even pass along great information or techniques on what we have done over the last 25 plus years. You are supplied with maps & material to aid you in your trip.

See Article "About Your Trip" for more information.

Open Events are open to the public requiring no membership, but are not eligible for membership discounts. The only way a non-member can participate in a members only event is to not have enough participation in one of the members only events. Example, if only 5 members sign up for the Nov. 14th event, that one opening becomes open to non-members 1 week prior to the event. There is a $20.00 fee due before the event for a non-member.

What is Outdoor Xcursions?

Outdoor Xcursions
Hunting Trail for the Outdoorsman
OutdoorXcursions.blogspot.com

A hunting club like No Other!

Basically, we are a group of guys who like to hunt different places for all types of animals. We like to find new places to hunt or just visit some old favorites. We could be any where in the state, but for the most part, we stay with in a two hour radious of Nashville. For example, last year we went on a pheasant trip on a hunting preserve. The trip ended up costing about $125.00 each, which included everything including a guide and a big cook out afterwards.

Some trips don`t cost anything but time and gas money. We have open events for anyone to attend, then we have members only events. Members have to pay a $30 dollar membership, which aids in organizing the club, film work, web site & more. We have a couple of film guys and a media group already wanting to help. Some video feeds will also be posted on the internet. The members only events is where 90% of the film work takes place, the open events is for more outdoorsmen to get together and have a good time and introduce them to our program.

We have an email list of hunters already, if you would like to be sent updates of future trips & information. Please email us your full name, email address and a contact phone number.

There was a dove hunt opening week in Lebanon, TN that we attended. We had a great shoot & a cook out afterwords. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at any time.
